This collection contains prayers drawn from a variety of faiths and traditions. The prayers included in the Prayers for World Healing often change, in order to keep the ritual fluid, flexible, and all-inclusive.
Some prayers may seem more suitable before the offering of healing, while others seem best to be said after healing. However, the choice may vary from person to person.
Please feel free to add to the list as we welcome your suggestions. Send an email to Steve at grumbla342@gmail.com or to the IHUK office at info@ihuk.org
from the Jewish tradition (short form)
Let us
gather together. Let us draw together.
Let us form
a vessel to catch the dew of heaven.
Let us rise
up and go to that Holy Place of meeting,
Gather there
with the companions of the Light.
Let the veil
of heaven be drawn back.

Lao-Tse
If there is
to be peace in the world,
There must
be peace in the nations.
If there is
to be peace in the nations,
There must
be peace in the cities.
If there is
to be peace in the cities,
There must
be peace between neighbours.
If there is
to be peace between neighbours,
There must
be peace in the home.
If there is
to be peace in the home,
There must
be peace in the heart.
Druid Call for Peace (Various Druid Orders)
Deep within
the still centre of my being
May I find
peace.
Silently
within the quiet of the Grove
May I share
peace.
Gently
within the greater circle of humankind
May I
radiate peace.
Peace Prayer of Saint Francis
Lord, make
me an instrument of your peace:
where there
is hatred, let me sow love;
where there
is injury, pardon;
where there
is doubt, faith;
where there
is despair, hope;
where there
is darkness, light;
where there
is sadness, joy.
O divine
Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be
consoled as to console,
to be understood
as to understand,
to be loved
as to love.
For it is in
giving that we receive,
it is in
pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in
dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.

Tibetan Buddhist Prayer
May you be
at peace,

heart remain open.

awaken to the light
of your own
true nature.

for all

Hindu prayer
O God, lead
us from the unreal to the Real.
O God, lead
us from darkness to light.
O God, lead
us from death to immortality.
Shanti,
Shanti, Shanti unto all.
Lord’s Prayer – translated from Aramaic by Neil Douglas Klotz.
O Birther!
Father- Mother of the Cosmos
Focus your
light within us - make it useful.
Create your
reign of unity now-
through our
fiery hearts and willing hands
Help us love
beyond our ideals
and sprout
acts of compassion for all creatures.
Animate the
earth within us: we then
feel the
Wisdom underneath supporting all.
Untangle the
knots within
so that we
can mend our hearts' simple ties to each other.
Don't let
surface things delude us,
But free us
from what holds us back from our true purpose.
Out of you,
the astonishing fire,
Returning
light and sound to the cosmos.
Amen.
Native American Prayer for Peace
O Great
Spirit of our Ancestors, I raise my pipe to you.
To your
messengers the four winds,
and to
Mother Earth who provides for your children.
Give us the
wisdom to teach our children to love, to respect,
and to be
kind to each other so that they may grow with peace in mind.
Let us learn
to share all the good things you provide for us on this Earth.

Baha'i Prayer for Peace
Be generous
in prosperity, and thankful in adversity.
Be fair in
thy judgement, and guarded in thy speech.
Be a lamp
unto those who walk in darkness, and a home to the stranger.
Be eyes to
the blind, and a guiding light unto the feet of the erring.
Be a breath
of life to the body of humankind, a dew to the soil of the human heart,
and a fruit
upon the tree of humility.
Thich Nhat Hanh (relaxation practice)
Breathing
in, I calm body.
Breathing
out, I smile.
Dwelling in
the present moment
I know this
is the only moment.

Pope Francis: A prayer for our earth
All-powerful God, you are present in the whole
universe
and in the smallest of your creatures.
Pour out upon us the power of your love,
that we may protect life and beauty.
Fill us with peace, that we may live
as brothers and sisters, harming no one.
O God of the poor,
help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten
of this earth,
so precious in your eyes.
Bring healing to our lives, that we may
protect the world and not prey on it,
that we may sow beauty, not pollution and
destruction.
Touch the hearts
of those who look only for gain
at the expense of the poor and the earth.
Teach us to discover the worth of each thing,
to be filled with awe and contemplation,
to recognize that we are profoundly united
with every creature
as we journey towards your infinite light.
We thank you for being with us each day.
Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle
for justice, love and peace.
Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan’s Prayer for Peace
Send Thy Peace, O Lord, which is perfect and
everlasting, that our souls may radiate peace.
Send Thy Peace, O Lord, that we may think, act
and speak harmoniously.
Send Thy Peace, O Lord, that we may be
contented and thankful for Thy Bountiful Gifts.
Send Thy Peace, O Lord, that amidst our
worldly strife we may enjoy Thy Bliss.
Send Thy Peace, O Lord, that we may endure
all, tolerate all in the thought of Thy Grace and Mercy.
Send Thy Peace, O Lord, that our lives may
become a divine vision, and in Thy Light all darkness may vanish.
Send Thy Peace, O Lord, our Father and Mother,
that we, Thy Children on earth, may all unite in one [family].
Amen

Julian of Norwich – Showings – The Thirteenth Revelation (Long Text, ch. 31)
‘I may make
all things well,
and I can
make all things well,
and I will
make all things well,
and I shall
make all things well;
and you will
see yourself
that every
kind of thing will be well.’
